J.S.Bach – Magnificat in D Major (with Christmas hymns)

Join Exeter Bach Society for an all-day public choral workshop led by Jonathan Peter Kenny, conductor with the English Touring Opera and Baroque specialist on a selection of 18th century Baroque masterpieces.

Both works are a triumph of compositional brevity; whilst the melodic motifs remain rich and expansive the musical forms are tightly controlled in complete contrast to the extended ‘da capo’ arias of Bach’s later passions and Handel’s oratorios.

Warm-ups will be led by the newly appointed dynamic young conductor of Exeter Bach Society, Jonathan Lucas Wood.
