Join Exeter Bach Society for the best possible way to kick-start your Christmas with a feast of Baroque favourites from Vivaldi’s uplifting “Gloria” to Corelli’s beautiful “Christmas Concerto” interspersed with favourite christmas carols from John Rutter in their orchestral arrangements.
The concert will also feature excerpts from Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s “Brandeburg Concerto No. 2” played by trumpeter Will Palmer, and Morten Lauridsen’s timeless a capella motet “O Magnum Mysterium”.
Finally, we also pay tribute to Claudio Monteverdi in the 450th anniversary since his birth with “Cantate Domino” – one of his most popular motets for choir – as well as the majestic orchestral Toccata which announces the opening of his revolutionary opera L’Orfeo.
