{"id":481,"date":"2023-02-21T17:55:32","date_gmt":"2023-02-21T17:55:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/exeterbachchoir.co.uk\/?p=481"},"modified":"2023-02-21T18:30:48","modified_gmt":"2023-02-21T18:30:48","slug":"world-premiere-fear-no-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/exeterbachchoir.co.uk\/world-premiere-fear-no-more\/","title":{"rendered":"<strong>World premi\u00e8re: \u2018Fear No More\u2019<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Exeter Bach Choir and Orchestra are delighted to be performing the world premi\u00e8re of Exeter-based composer Peter Nickol\u2019s work \u2018Fear No More\u2019 in their forthcoming concert, <em>Fear No More \u00ad music for consolation<\/em>.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The concert will take place at 7:30pm at St David\u2019s Church, Exeter on 11 March.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from \u2018Fear No More\u2019, the concert will include Faur\u00e9\u2019s Requiem, J.S. Bach\u2019s cantata \u2018Ich habe genug\u2019, Brahms\u2019 \u2018How lovely are thy dwellings\u2019 (sung in the original German), and Geoffrey Burgon\u2019s Nunc Dimittis. The last three years, dominated by the Covid pandemic, have been difficult for many \u2013 not least for musicians. Bringing these works together gives this concert a distinct theme and feeling, emphasising consolation, compassion, resolution, and peace. We hope that people will enjoy listening to the way composers have responded to this theme over a time-span of nearly three hundred years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tickets are priced at \u00a318 in advance (via Ticketsource or choir members) or \u00a320 on the door.
