The Exeter Bach Choir membership year runs from the beginning of September until June of the following year and encapsulates three concerts. We rehearse on Thursday evenings, 19.00 – 21.15, at Maynard School, Exeter.

The first rehearsal for the 2026-7 season will be on Thursday 3rd September 2026.

We are always keen to welcome new singers from all backgrounds into our choir. Our members cover a wide range of musical experience, an ability to read music is helpful and previous experience of singing in German is a bonus, but certainly not essential. Language coaching will be given, when necessary, within weekly rehearsals.

We perform with soloists, both local and from elsewhere, and are joined by a professional orchestra for most concerts.

If you would like to sing with the choir, please download and complete the application form online or click here to download a copy). After your first few rehearsals there will be a short voice assessment. These voice assessments are updated every two to three years to ensure members are keeping their voices in good shape.

The annual membership subscription for 2026/7 is £200, and can be paid in variety of ways. The fee for those joining after Christmas is £120. There is a reduced annual subscription of £30 for members aged 25 or younger. Subscriptions are payable after completion of the initial voice assessment and monthly instalments can be arranged if required.
